Rabbi Reuven Travis - Marketing Director
Rav Reuven spent 15 years as an advertising and marketing executive working both for large, Fortune 500 firms (such as Georgia-Pacific and Ogilvy & Mather) and as a consultant. He developed strategic business and marketing plans for a variety of consumer packaged goods and financial services companies. His clients included General Foods, Pepsi Cola, Star-Kist, Martha White Foods, American Express, C&S Bank (now Bank of America), SunTrust Banks and Bank South. He was responsible for implementation of these plans, including managing multi-million dollar budgets.
Twelve years ago, Reuven started his career as an educator. Since then, he has worked as a teacher and an administrator in Jewish day schools. He has taught Bible, Jewish Law and Jewish History to hundreds of young people. He currently teaches in Atlanta’s only Modern Orthodox high school.
Reuven earned his BA from Dartmouth College, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a double major in French Literature and Political Science. He holds a Masters of Teaching from Mercer University and has a T-5 teaching certification in Secondary Education. He also earned a Masters of Judaic Studies from Spertus College. He received his Rabbinic Ordination in 2006 from Rabbi Michael J. Broyde, Dean of the Atlanta Torah MiTzion Kollel, after spending four years studying with Rabbi Broyde and the members of the Kollel.
Reuven recently joined Yael Adventures as our Marketing Director. His deep understanding of the Bible and of Jewish History, combined with his love of the land (he lived and worked on kibbutz on two separate occasions), makes him an excellent addition to the Yael Adventures team. Pastors and Rabbis alike appreciate the insights he brings as he works with them in America to create the trip of a lifetime for their respective congregants.
